The only countries I know of that have complete bans, outside of North Korea, are in this hemisphere like Mexico, Cuba, Venezuela, Bermuda, several Caribbean countries. No. I said homicides. Any save would be offset by lives saved with a gun. Those actually out number criminal use according to most criminologists. A complete ban would eliminate 60 percent of all gun deaths. That is about 20K people. The down side is that there will be 20K more rope deaths. Remember my rant about Bloomberg et al not caring about lives? Our violent crime rate is half of what it was when all but two states had restrictive or no concealed carry.

Why? How would that affect the black market? BTW, there has been since FDR.

Why? Accidents and negligence is almost nonexistent. Besides, the average rural teenager is actually better trained and more responsible with firearms than most urban police. If you want to discuss training, start there. Cops are also less law abiding and more likely to hit an innocent than a CCW holder.

You mention funding for ATF. ATF funding isn't the real problem. Throwing more money at their mismanagement won't solve anything, especially since we have US attorneys who refuse to prosecute cases. When local police hand over gang members to the feds for felon in possession, the local US attorney seems to have better things to do. Same with straw buyers, who can get up to ten years, at most will get a year probation. There have been more federal gun crime prosecutions under fucking Bush than now. How about we start with prosecuting the ones they do get?

Speaking of illegal guns. Europe is awash in automatic weapons made in the former Soviet Block, like the ones used in the attacks in France. The machine guns used in the first attacks were purchased at a train station in Brussels. The latest ones were from a "dark web" site in Germany.
