Taxes [View all]

I haven't filed for a few years. I'd do the paperwork, didn't owe, so I didn't submit the forms. I had a few changes last year, so I thought I'd better check in. My friend told me that there was tax help through the public library. I called and got an appt. which was today. I gathered up my income verification and went. The tax help is free, run by volunteers and supported by AARP and set up in the Knights of Columbus building.

I didn't bring a verification for social security, so the lady that was doing my taxes suggested I go to the SSA office and get a printout. She worked on my forms while I did that. It was easier than trying to get anything printed at home Really glad they were so flexible. One person filled out the form and another checked it. Both said that even if i don't owe, It's a good idea to file every few years at least.

I was happy to hear that I didn't owe any taxes
