Not my cup of tea. Female protagonist is very unlikable. Awkward writing. A mish max of wilderness and Catholic Church mystery. Dan Brown meets raiders of the lost arc.

Also Twisted Prey/John Sandford

His early books are great. Twisty and funny and smart. Lucas and Bob and Rae take on murderous Senator Grant.
