Welp, a rather famous wildcard entry at Wimbledon crashed out and isn't taking it well [View all]
as usual. Serena was always a terrible loser (see: US Open SF vs Clijsters 2009, US Open final vs Stosur 2011, US Open final vs Osaka 2018, when her behavior reduced Naomi to tears and ruined what should have been the joy in her victory), so the fact that Wimbledon gave her a wildcard entry and, after a humiliating loss to a player ranked 87 in the world hurt her sensibilities, her camp released this statement:

So Wimbledon gifts her a WC and she can't even do her obligatory post-match press availability. A very nice thank you to the tournament.
