8. The Super Bowl was moved one week because of the Pro Bowl, not the extended regular season.

The Pro Bowl used to be played after the Super Bowl but no one watched. The NFL, trying to make it relevant, swapped placed with the Super Bowl moving it from the end of Jan to the beginning of Feb.
