The team that has been playing the best, Spain, meets the team the bookies gave odds on winning, England. These sides are much the same, yet very different. Spain has been on the front foot this whole tournament with a multitude of good players who take calculated chances and create some outstanding chances. England has the talent from top to bottom over virtually everyone, but their play hasn’t been great, and yet here they are.
It’s a final so who can say what will happen. Given their performances up until this point, Spain needs to take an early lead and then keep the pressure on an England side who has convinced themselves they can and will win, even in the closing seconds of the game.
I’m really looking forward to this one!!
