Speaking only for myself, as someone who believes in God, I also have to admit that there is no empirical evidence to prove the existence of that God (or any God). My belief is based on my faith, which in turn was developed and nurtured by my education (both formal and informal) and my personal experiences.
Could I be wrong?
Absolutely.
All I can do is try my best to lead a life that strives to put the needs of others first, and then assist those in need to the best of my abilities.
And while I dont think that a belief in God is necessary to do that, I also hope that my belief does not hinder me from doing so.
Anyway, just my thoughts.
