My parents were born, grew up, and were married in Wyoming. My dad was a Navy pilot during WWII and after the war they moved around a lot due to his Navy assignments. My mom gave up being a Moron and wanted nothing to do with them. One of her relatives contacted the Mormon Church about that and they had people contacting her about coming back into the church. My mom made it clear she wasn't interested and to leave her alone. She learned from some of her friends who were Mormons, but not obnoxious about their religion, told her the church was going to excommunicate and that she was required to come in for a "hearing." My dad got upset and sent them a letter stating if the excommunicated her or held a hearing concerning her, and that they had friends in the church who would tell them if that happened, he'd sue them for everything they had in the San Diego area. They immediately dropped the matter and never contacted her again.
