and if we want to "be like God" and if we want to be forgiven, we have to forgive others.

The old testament was not about that, eye for an eye and all that.

Maybe there's a hapy medium. But I certainly am not going to compromise my own feelings to make anyone else feel better about being a shitty person. nope, FAFO...even if I am ot the one dishing it out, I do believe they make their own bed to lie in.
