23. Oh indeed the Bible does say that

...Jewish tradition says that life begins when a baby takes it first breath. This is when its soul enters its body. In the Christian testament John 1:1 begins with, "in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word IS God..."

One time I asked a Jewish scholar why they used the word, "Word" in John. And why was it capitalized in English. He said, that it is because "Word" in Hebrew and Aramaic meant, "Breath," or "Soul." with a capital. It was when God basically enters our bodies to give us life.

The people in Jesus time already knew that life began with the first breath. He never said anything different from the writers of the New Testament. And if he worked with female prostitutes, he never said a word about what they had to do to ply their trade. Pregnancy was avoided by inserting a grape, or apple seed into the womb (as it contains strychnine, and stops pregnancies), an ancient form of birth control. They also would insert an apricot pit in camels when going on long journeys to keep them from becoming pregnant.

If it had been an important religious issue to bring up, it would have been mentioned by the writers who quoted Jesus. Never a word.

MY take on what I have studied, but I am no scholar, I just spent most of my life studying these things. Hope this helps,

Love, Cat from Seattle
