Grief grabbed me today. I found an old notebook from my years old class in "writing the self." [View all]

I wrote of the death of a beloved sister in law in that class. I was just putting the finishing touches on a new book I am writing and dedicated it to her. I emailed my niece to tell her that she'd be getting it soon.
I was plunged back into the grief I felt in that writing course. I emailed the professor to let her know.

Also, was reminded of Stanley Kunitz's poem "The heart breaks and breaks and lives by breaking." He tells us "not to turn."
