2. In CA there's a petition for mandatory labeling of GMOs in food

The purpose of the petition is to qualify a mandatory labeling initiative for the November ballot.

There is a website and a FB page--but the petition must be signed in person, not online. For those in CA, you can find info at the website on locations in your area where you can sign the petition:

I learned that petitions would be available at a local festival and at a health food restaurant in my community. But it turned out that I didn't have to go to either of those--I was able to sign at an Occupy L.A. protest on unrelated issues. Serendipity!
