My first post to this forum. Hello! There is a funny, thoughtful film on Netflix entitled OMG, in Hindi with subtitles. I think it gives a gentle but heartfelt insight into some aspects of Hinduism. (I have studied Hinduism, but I am not a Hindu myself.) In the movie, an irreligious shopkeeper's store is destroyed by an earthquake. The insurance company chalks it up to an "act of God" and won't pay up. So, the shopkeeper sues God. An uproar follows, his family has to evacuate the home due to threats, and representatives of many faiths dispute his claim against God in court, some thoughtfully, some menacingly. The shopkeeper is saved from a vengeful crowd by a fellow claiming to be a real estate agent. There is beauty in the shopkeeper coming to know that the helpful agent is Krishna, there is heart tugging at the painful disruption of his community and his family, there is insight into relgious practice, and there are lots of laughs as the absurdity of it all is revealed. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! 🙏 Namaste y'all.
