The International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) and the League of Human Rights (LDH) will file a complaint on Thursday in Paris, in the case of world espionage by the NSA, the American electronic communications agency.
Speaking live on France Info, a lawyer for the FIDH and LDH, Mr. Emmanuel Daoud, said that this particular complaint against X aimed to clarify the role that Microsoft, Yahoo!, Google, Paltak, Facebook, Youtube, Skype, AOL and Apple played in the Prism scandal.
According to him, "at different times," these companies "are likely to have made their servers available to the FBI and NSA for the U.S. intelligence agencies to penetrate them and have direct access to permanently to collect, siphon all that data of their Internet customers using the services of these companies."
Mr. Daoud suggests that they maybe "didn't tell the whole truth" when they affirmed they weren't aware of the Prism program. The French subsidiaries of these companies are also likely to be the subject of investigations, added Mr. Daoud.
On
France Info, the attorney stated that they were likely to be charged with unauthorized "access, collection of personal data, invasion of privacy, violating the secrecy of electronic correspondence. " "We have not had such an infringement on individual freedoms, so massive and from a foreign state, that potentially affects all French citizens, all French Internet users when they use Google, Microsoft, Apple, Skype and other companies also covered," according to Mr. Daoud.
