My family uses lots of batteries. Mostly AA and AAA but a few of the smoke and CO detectors use 9 volts.

Here's the hint: Lowes sells batteries cheap but you have to plan ahead. My local CVS wants $10 for 16 store brand AAs. Lowes has a bulk pack of 100 AAs for about $21. 100 AAAs are about $23.

The CVS price works out to 62 cents and Lowes is about a third of that. Maybe it's embarrassing but I give batteries as gifts or along with battery powered gifts.

Between flashlights, small tools and media remotes we have about 20 things that run on batteries.
