1. Sort of emasculates the Senate if these are truly treaties (not just agreements) and they approved them.

Unfortunately the Constitution only speaks to Senate ratifying and no mention to rescinding so a bit of a gray area although Carter and others withdrew us from treaties as well without formal Senate review or consent. Oh the things that were missed in the Constitution and lawmaking since.
