Kristi Noem Is Actively Covering Up ICE's Killing of Renee Good - Decoding The Rhetoric [View all]
Tens of thousands of people marched across the country demanding justice for Renee Nicole Good after she was killed by an ICE agent in Minneapolis. While the public filled the streets, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem was working behind the scenes to block accountability.
The day after ICE killed Renee Good, Noem issued a secret directive reimposing a seven day notice requirement for congressional visits to ICE facilities. That policy had already been blocked by a federal judge in December. Using a funding loophole tied to Trumps One Big Beautiful Bill, Noem attempted to bypass the court order and shut Congress out.
When three Minnesota congresswomen showed up to conduct constitutionally protected oversight at the Minneapolis ICE facility, they were initially allowed inside. After seeing detained individuals and beginning their visit, they were abruptly kicked out mid inspection. The justification was Noems new directive, enforced just days after the shooting.
This was not a bureaucratic mistake or miscommunication. The timing tells the story. ICE kills Renee Good. The next day, Noem blocks oversight. Two days later, members of Congress are expelled from the facility. At the same time, the FBI blocks Minnesotas state investigation and DHS pushes a false narrative that has already collapsed under video and expert analysis.
This is what a cover up looks like in real time. When officials believe their actions cannot withstand scrutiny, they do not invite investigation. They obstruct it. And every step taken by Kristi Noem since Renee Good was killed points in the same direction. - 01/11/2026.
