My friends and I are getting up there, but my friend whose parents owned the camp (girls' camp on Lake Champlain in Vermont which they ran from 1951-2006!) likes to plan some activity and at the last gathering we climbed the highest mountain in Vermont!

The main activities were riding (horses - which I did at home at a nearby college) and swimming. There were lots of other activities, but those two were the only ones which were required. I loved the riding, was never an enthusiastic swimmer, but my two other favorites were the theater and the rifle range. I learned to shoot there and was good enough to make the team and when I went to high school I was the first and only girl to be on the rifle team there. Needless to say, the school no longer has a rifle team, nor do the other schools we used to shoot against, including the military schools. There were never any incidents either at camp or at school, but obviously it's considered too dangerous today.
