and the White House.

Bold, and visionary, and based on the genuine conviction that Trump was an existential threat to democracy should have prompted Democrats to kill the filibuster in order to pack the damn Supreme Court, forestalling that unconstitutional immunity ruling, replacing it with one holding Presidents accountable to the law like everyone else, speed-tracking his insurrection and document theft trials right into the courts, and saving Roe at the same time. Dealing with the fallout would have been a piece of cake compared to the impact that bold move would have had, but there weren't any Democrats in leadership with the cojones to give it a shot. So here we are. And that's one big reason why their approval rating is 29%.

I don't think this country can produce that kind of personal commitment and willingness to sacrifice, everyone is too self absorbed and self interested.
