2. That is enough to pay for rent freezes, free child care, free bus fares and city owned grocery stores?

Mamdani has proposed raising taxes even higher – adding a 2% income tax on New York City residents who make over $1 million per year and raising the top corporate tax rate to 11.5%.


2% ? Doesn't seem like that would raise enough $$, but they believe it will, so probably right. I suspect however that the increase in corporate taxes will just be passed on to consumers like tariffs are.
