I once aspired to own a Tesla, but my current hybrid is puttering along just fine for now so it seemed dumb to rush out and buy any new car. I am really, really glad I didn't.
I'm sure your point is correct about what most people who purchased Teslas were thinking at the time. I feel for them, I really do. But I think outside that group of Tesla owners or near-owners like me, "most people" will just see a Tesla automobile as a proxy for the evil entity of Musk/Tesla.
I do agree with your last point that it is dangerous to promote such attacks. We certainly don't want to be promoting any violence, and especially against innocent proxies. I disagree with violence as an approach regardless, but for those who think it may ever become an option - stick to applying that to the actual guilty, please. The decent people who own Teslas are generally also victims of this cretin.
