(34,627 posts)I also think he has big ideas that may be good and some may be bad. He has some learning to do because like it or not all the old folks whose butt prints are forever imprinted in those seats will likely win over anything he wants to do with old ideas that have never worked. He probably already knows that but is presenting his views anyway and that might be a big no-no to some or most of them. To be progressive is scary or to terrify with new ways of doing things....yikes.
I believe we need more David Hoggs even if just to push us old folks into thinking without being so damned stodgy all the time. Move ahead, do something that will REALLY change things. Not just kinda, sorta.
He needs experience, this is always how it goes with new people, young or old, who have new ideas. I bet he hangs in there and wherever he eventually lands, does some really good things. IF we do not stop the old people, like me, with old and stale ideas, not like me, we will wander along the path we have worn out already and repeat and repeat all the things that do not work. We need the younger people out working with us and learning what they can. We can hang on to and use the great things we have done while watching them learn and grow. Throwing them out is a very bad idea IMO.
