The goal of work requirements is to kick people off Medicaid:

This means revised coverage estimates maybe significantly so (read: more uninsured).

Despite not binding until 2029, work requirements made up nearly half the Medicaid savings/cuts over the 10-yr budget window ($301B of $625B). Of course, they only save money if they kick people off the program.

Significant: House Majority Leader Steve Scalise says Republicans will revise the House bill to trigger the Medicaid work requirements earlier. Existing bill starts them in 2029. I asked him when; Scalise replied: We don't have an exact date, but it'll be sooner than what's in the current bill.
