5. I think a number of methods are being used to control the republiQans.

First, there's flat-out compromat on some of them. Lindsay Graham, for one. I would bet there are many more, but those are simply much smarter and don't make it as obvious as Lindsay.

Second, there's the threat of removing the loyalty of the base. Cankles has had an iron grip on the affection of the base, and with a word could ruin the re-election prospects of anyone who crossed him.

Third, there's money. Musk, Theil and many others like them are the teat that feeds the republiQan party since Citizens United.

Today, though, I think we are seeing Cankles's grip on the base slipping, which is encouraging. And I think there is reason to question whether Musk or Theil are still funding maga. With these under-the-table meetings in Montana and the breakup between Musk and Cankles, I tend to think that is a legitimate question.

I have been like Charlie Brown with the football for 40 years, hoping Cankles would face justice. I won't believe it till I see it, but I'm beginning to have hope again.
