A money issue.
I've visited around ?20 times. About half for pure fun, and half for demonstrations, and marches.

I love The National Mall. Seen The Museum of Natural History, American History, National Art Gallery, Air and Space, Original Smithstnion Building, Native American, African, Library of Congress, National Archives.
Lincoln Memorial (including once at midnight), Vietnam Memorial, FDR, Dr King, Washington, The Capitol, White House (once in the summer, and around Xmas when The Clinton's had the American Crafts exhibition on the Holiday Trees - wonderful!)

I feel the most patriotic visiting there.

If I can get back there I definitely want to see the African-American Museum. I was following it's progress being built on line.

I stayed overnight in Georgetown via a cousin's wife's mom (a sweet gesture) for the Clinton's Crafts display. It was snowing when I woke up, instead of starting a few hours later.
I walked about 1/3 mile to the bus. On my way I passed a Magnolia Tree with it's leaves on! I had no idea it was an evergreen.

Keep enjoying your visit!
