They're a relatively stable isolated community, so they're easy to control for.
The issue with Autism is that as a condition, unless you're absolutely not functional, the amount of impact it might have on your life is only noticable due to the complexity of your society.
I suspect my daughter's boyfriend is a high functioning Autistic - he's in the construction trade; he's considered a good worker - partially because he's able to control his outbursts and peculiarities in public.
