They live in a jock bubble. Their lives are completely subsumed by preparation for the Olympics. I am going to give them some credit: they had just won the gold over an extremely talented and heavily favored Canadian team for the first men's gold in 46 years. I think they were so deliriously happy that anyone, as long as they were excited for them, would have been welcome in the moment.

So yeah, I'm willing to give them a pass for the moment. How I feel about them will depend on how much I hear "everyone's picking on us" over the next few days or unless they make statements supporting Trump when they've come down from the victory high.
