Your assumption that "the individuals involved in this nefarious plot" would have spilled the beans is premature; strong, ongoing evidence exists that his regime is kept mum about the rape allegations against him, notwithstanding this and other administrations leaking like sieves.

And that's on top of the fact that his blood sprayed in the wrong direction for a wound resulting from a bullet fired toward him from the front.

What follows here is indeed speculation: Trump may have been told that the shooter would use blanks, and that he was to slap a blood capsule to his ear when he heard the shots. I offer no evidence of this; it's admittedly pure speculation that incidentally is not inconsistent with observable events.
