7. Without conditions being such that Fetterman positively knows Trump WOULD take us to war, if not stopped by Congress

then it's more accurately called a vote "to let Trump decide", rather than "to go to war". Much like Hillary's (and Kerry's) Iraq War votes were at the time. I've made this argument about their votes in that case many times over the years when people said "Hillary voted for the Iraq War", I've said "no, she didn't!", as I'm doing here. And I endeavor to keep logical consistency, even if I don't like the person that I may end up showing largesse to as a result. To the consternation of many at times

Don't get me wrong, I'm pissed at the guy, and it's better to err on the side of disallowing Trump to do ANY given thing he might want to do, clearly. IOW, it's still a dick move, regardless

IN REALITY this measure shouldn't even be NEEDED. It should be a GIVEN that he cannot start a war without Congressional Approval, outside the most extreme, pressing (and defensive) circumstances. Which these are CLEARLY NOT

The "voted with fascist to bomb Cuba into dust" headline is not really accurate AZJonnie Apr 29 #1

Even a 51 - 49 vote against military action in Cuba, House of Roberts Apr 29 #9
It can mean diddly if it draws attention both the prospect of war with Cuba, its reasons, and Trump's unitary power. Ilikepurple Apr 29 #19
