Attack ad against Tom Steyer is misleading [View all]

The ad I just saw is sponsored by the California Utility Industry, PG&E (California's Utility Co), One branch of the Electrical Workers Union , the Chamber of Commerce and the Realtors Association.

Obviously, they don't like his stand on green energy or the environment in general. But that doesn't give them the right to mislead voters which is what this ad does.

How? Well they quote him during a debate which I watched in full as saying "Me paying more taxes is not the answer" as though he refused to pay more taxes. That is the opposite of what happened. He said he would pay more, but without others in his tax bracket doing the same it would not be a solution.

I'm not a Steyer supporter, but the fact that the energy sector and certain business interests don't like his stance on issues doesn't mean they can smear him with innuendo.
