I try and remain alert that good quality gasoline goes in to that gas tank. The car manufacturer recommends fuel standards higher than the EPA requires for good engine performance and the life of the engine.
During the week I use an old beat up GMC pickup truck not so picky about fuel quality.

7-Eleven doesnt sell just one type of gas. They operate two completely different fuel models, and the quality gap between them is massive.
If youre pumping from a pump labeled 7-Eleven or Speedway, youre getting fuel that meets the bare minimum EPA requirementsnothing more. Neither brand appears on the TOP TIER certified retailers list, which is the automotive industrys gold standard for fuel quality.
Sure, the base fuel starts at the same refineries and travels through shared pipelines. But the magic happens at the terminal when your gas gets loaded onto the delivery truck.
