3. I think there will be reforms, such as changes to the law.

There were reforms after Richard Nixon resigned, and I think there will be far more done after the current administration is over. But it will take a lot of will and public support as well as at least two functioning political parties. We know now that it takes a great deal for the current Republican Party to show resistance to the lawless Donald Trump. The public has learned that the guardrails we thought we had in place only work if powerful people don't enable the worst offenses.

Republicans are in some instances pushing back, and many of our most pressing issues (concerns about data centers, inflation, and more) aren't partisan concerns.

On edit: I hear a lot of glum predictions, but we don't actually know what will happen. I do know this: There aren't any redeeming revelations on the way about Donald Trump. If anything, we'll find out even worse things about him.

In any event, I do believe there will be reforms.
