7. I don't think the Feds should have jurisdiction

I wondered how the Feds could claim jurisdiction, and the reason is pretty far out there:

"Federal prosecutors say they have jurisdiction in the case because Mangione's "travel in interstate commerce" - taking a bus from Atlanta to New York prior to the killing - as well as "use of interstate facilities" by allegedly utilizing a cell phone and the internet "to plan and carry out the stalking, shooting, and killing"

If traveling from one state to another, plus the use of a cell phone and Internet to "plan" a crime, is sufficient for Federal jurisdiction, then half of all crime in the US is under Federal jurisdiction. Ridiculous.

Reminds me of when the Feds prosecute a kid for shoplifting a candy bar because there was a contract post office window in the back of the store.

Mangione's lawyers should challenge Federal jurisdiction.
