2. Apropos to nothing but the story reminds me of a line from a comedy years ago.

I can't find it now but there was a sitcom decades ago in which the cast was visiting Joshua Tree National Park. A ranger was going on about the bees that pollinate the plants. At the end of his spiel, the ranger asked "Where would the Joshua Tree be without the Joshua Tree bees?"
