There two kinds of immature, the petty spiteful self-absorbed kind, and a good kind - childlike and willing to live in the moment. Try new things, find enjoyment where you are.

I really don't know why anyone wants to turn into a grumpy old fuddy-duddy. But it happens all the time, so it's either genetic or cultural. Similar to the way that shortly after having kids of one's own seems to make everyone completely forget that THEY did those same things at that age and they turn into their own parents.
