Your explanation is much better than anything I’ve posted and in “percent talk”, you are 100% correct. No matter what the Second Law of Thermodynamics has to say, it’s simply impractical to expect a society to switch completely to the exclusive use of direct electricity generated from nuclear energy with no other energy sources and no intermediate storage or conversion. The world just doesn't work that way.
